There is a truth that runs through us all, Master, slave, dom, sub, top, bottom. A truth so readily forgotten in the real world, a truth that defines us, sets our limits and dictates how we live.

In an ideal world, slaves would care for nothing but their masters needs 24/7, forsaking their own. A Master would nurture, care, be understanding, punish appropriately, and most importantly, be infallibly correct at all times.

In this ideal world the slave in question never gets upset, her needs always come second to those of her Masters. The Master never makes a mistake, always knows what is best for his slave and always acts accordingly.

However does a slave not cry if a family member or a loved one dies?
Do slaves not get depressed, or sad, or down?
Do slaves not have their own needs beyond that of needing to serve?
Do Masters not make mistakes?
Do Master's sometimes misjudge a situation?
Do some Master's not act in the best interests of their slaves to meet their own needs?
Do Masters and slaves not get ill, so ill they cannot function in their position?

These are only a few examples of where the truth of the matter is seen, and the illusion of the ideal world falls apart.

While the truth may be ignored to a certain extent outside of a r/l relationship, once an emotional connection is made...

We are all bound by the fact that we are all, only human.
