An excellent short story, well thought out with a superb ending.
QUIN is a superlative author, and really is ready for the big time. In my humble opinion, this story is one of his best! Why? It is not filled with gratuitous sex, with girls succumbing to misogynist rapists, having to submit to unrealistic tortures that would maim and kill. Not cause sexual arousal. Realism is a pleasure. When will I see you on paper? (10/10)

Your story engaged me from the word go. It felt like a movie unfolding as the words flowed and described the characters personalities through the conversations. The visual descriptions whet the mind's appetite to see. The protagonist's angst was identifiable. The surprise ending was unanticipated. I'm going to read the rest of your stories. This one is a keeper! Loved it! Kisses (10/10)

Quinn's stories are always well done. This is a very good addition to the "Doc" series, which I've especially enjoyed. (9/10)

Cute plot, style amusing as ever. No eros factor for my personal kinks but I recommend it: Read this if you are looking for fun in a more or less pulp fiction type setting - cheerful implausibility, nothing for thought, just good entertainment. (8/10)

I always enjoy Quin's work - particularly the slave trade stories, and had no hesitation in sending this one straight to the printer.
