Warm breath on my neck
I curl against the blast with a smile
Safe in this cozy little place
Surrounded by my scaly protector
None shall think to harm
The tail whips knocking my hair to my face
I giggle childishly
Rubbing the scaly muzzle
My guardian grumbles
Tiny flames flicker in his eyes
He cracks one to view me
Dawn, the dark woods fade, bathed in an orange light
With fairy wings I rise, arms reaching for the fading moon
With a curtsey to my gentle giant
And a final kiss on that leathery nose
I rise human and not
I rise heading for the invading wakefulness of the alarm
The call of the Ancient sounds in my ears,
One final goodbye
As I wake, my stuffed dragon in my arms
