Echo of a Mistress

[IAN 2411]

It was dimly lit and dressed in black
Chains and ropes were hanging slack
The submissive had left them in his haste
Time stood still in this most hallowed place

The dust had settled on the floor
This her domain would be used no more
Her cries of laughter and his sighs of pain
They would not be heard in this room again

He stood in the doorway just looking inside
With tears of sadness that he could not hide
Her words of comfort he could hear quite clear
He knew her soul was still quite near

Five years had gone by since that dreadful night
When his Mistress went into the eternal light
Life in this room would not be the same
He knew he wouldn’t venture inside again

To stop his tears he closed his eye lids tight
Then thought deeply of his lonely plight
In his tear closed eyes she did appear
With a smiling face and stepping near

Her kiss she planted on his cheek
He dared not move as his legs were weak
Then her voice he heard quite clear
“My lover I know why you’re standing here”

“You’re standing here just looking in
At my Domain where we both have been
I am still here as you can see
We are each other’s destiny”

“I see your tears like rivers flow
I will never leave you and this you know
I’ll be waiting patiently
Until once more lover you’ll come to talk with me”

He felt her kiss on his cheek once more
And he opened his eyes before he closed the door
He turned the key hearing the tumblers fall
Then hung the key back on the wall

His tears were dry and his face held a smile
His Mistress had come back and she had returned in style
No more would he think that he was alone
In his heart the Mistress was again back home.
